This year I have set myself two challenges   One challenge is to take part in Ride the Night  London to raise funds for women’s cancer groups  I am doing this in memory of my mum Rita and the gorgeous Sarah McGettigan who, while they did not die from women specific cancers, were taken from us by this cruel disease at too young an age.

Firstly, I am going to start with the hardest challenge of all - dry January.  For those who know me, you will recognise how tough this is going to be!  Monies raised from this will go to SCaRF which researches skin cancer particularly malignant melanomas.  The brain tumour which took Sarah’s life derived from a malignant melanoma which she had as a child.  Skin cancer is also prominent in my own family too with both my dad and his sister having it.  I have raised £250 so far for this charity. I now need to raise £300  for Ride the Night  with any extra money going to SCaRF again.  So please donate whatever you can in memory of this lush lady and to help research continue to work hard at finding cures to stop the pain that we have all at sometime endure because of cancer
