Over the course of the summer of 2016 I did four 10k runs, a 2k run and my first sprint triathlon raising funds for Separated Child Foundation.  This year, I am doing two half marathons: Vitality North London Half Marathon and Hampton Court Half in March; some 10k runs yet to be decided; Blenheim Palace Triathlon in June, and The Great North Run (half marathon) in September.

Why? It is a challenge, and I love a challenge or two.  Last year around £2500 was raised, which was amazing, fabulous, staggering etc.  This year, I have set the bar a little higher with my goal of raising £8,000 for Separated Child by the end of the summer 2017.

Please support this years' challenge if you feel able to by way of a donation of any size.  If you have donated previously, don't feel that you must this time around as I am sure that I will be doing some more challenges next year!!

Separated Child Foundation is a charity that has become personal for me. It is a charity that offers emotional, social, financial, and physical support to children and young people in the UK who have been separated from family.

One of their projects is the making up and distribution of "arrival packs". These duffel bags contain toiletries, basic clothing, towel, and other essentials. Demand for these packs has increased dramatically over the past year.  They are packed by an army of volunteers known affectionately as "Purple Packers", stored thanks to the generosity of The Big Yellow at Staples Corner, and distributed by a small team (known affectionately as Angela and me) to local authorities and refugee agencies.
