Story

Having been plagued by a bad attitude, the occasional injury and an unhealthy penchant for pork scratchings, I've run out of excuses not to run a marathon.  I've recently turned 50 and invested as much in running shoes over the last 6 months as clothes in the last 6 years.  I'm sure it'll make all the difference...

Twelve years ago, after Dad died of an aggressive form of prostate cancer, I made an embarrassingly feeble effort to get in shape to do a similar undertaking.  A month or so later, I opted for the less arduous task of growing a moustache for Movember.  Wind the clock forward and one could be forgiven for assuming I was undergoing something of a midlife crisis.  Certainly, a Harley would have been a more straight forward trade and, indeed, would have got me to 26 miles in less of a sweat.  That said, it would not have extinguished the nagging urge to do something to express how much our dearly beloved Dad is missed, now as much as ever.

Prostate cancer is a bastard of disease and is now the most diagnosed cancer in the UK leaving 11,500 men dead, every year. People affected by prostate cancer need breakthrough treatments, and research is the only way to turn this hope into reality. Their vision is clear; a world where people are free from the impact of prostate cancer. I’m part of #TeamPCR because I share this vision.

I would be hugely grateful if you would help me support Prostate Cancer Research
