We support people with sickle cell disease to improve their overall quality of life

Story

I am sure you would be wondering why I’m supporting this cause.

Sickle Cell is very close to my heart and I am very passionate about supporting sufferers of sickle cell disease because I have close family members who carry the Sickle Cells traits.

I also lost my best childhood friend to the disease. She died at a tender age of 33 years, over 14 years ago. My friend accomplished so much in her short life and impacted her generation. She wore many hats as a wife, lecturer, minister, writer, scholar and above all a motivator/encourager.

She had profound impact on everyone that she encountered. She was able to impact a lot of people because of opportunities given to her in life. In my friend’s loving memory, I wish that other sufferers are given opportunities to achieve their full potential in life.

Consequently, I will be running the Vitality 2015 British 10K London on behalf of The Sickle Cell Society.

I hope you will be joining me in supporting the great work that this society is doing by sponsoring me.

I thank you in advance of your support and encouragement.
