We provide play for disabled children to give their families a break

Story

Hello I'm April and I work at White Stuff Worcester and Malvern Special Families is our charity that we support. Through out the year we hold a lot of different charity events such as, Cake sales, Craft sales, Raffles etc. But it was me who decided the take the plunge and go for a full 20K Row (Static)!

By helping me raise this money you are going to benefit a lot of families in Worcestershire, as it will help disabled children live a much more fulfilling life and will bring happiness to their families.

This event will be held at Solv, Worcester (Local Crossfit affiliate) September 1st 7:30 AM.

A bit about Malvern Special Familes

Malvern Special Families are a small charity which helps support local families who have children with special needs.

The charity was set up in in the 1980’s by a group of local parents and now offers support to 175 families in Worcestershire. This year we are celebrating 30 years of supporting local families.

Malvern Special Families provides safe, stimulating and fun social opportunities for children and young people with disabilities and special needs. We provide clubs and play schemes in Worcester and in Malvern for children and young people with disabilities aged between 5 and 19 years during 'out of school' hours. The clubs provide excellent social opportunities for the children and young people in a safe and stimulating environment, whilst also giving their families a short break from their caring duties.

What your Fundraising money could buy:

The money you fund raise can help in so many ways including:

Buying new equipment for example specialist sensory equipment for our clubs and play schemes

Paying for activities and outings for our children and young people – from pottery classes, to drumming sessions to educational days out.

£10 will cover the costs of providing a healthy snack at one of our Clubs for all the children/young people

£11 will allow one young person to experience a pottery workshop (£200 for a group of 18)

£12.50 will cover the cost of a child/young person to get in to West Midlands Safari Park (always a favourite)

At Malvern Special Families 60% of young people who attend our clubs require 1 to 1 support:

£62 will give 1 young person, a member of staff to support them at one of our Saturday Clubs or holiday play schemes

A big thank you to those who do donate, you are going to make a big change!
