The DAVE (Deaf Activities Volunteering Experience) Project isaimed towards 14 to 25 year olds and has been designed to meet the needs ofyoung deaf people who are approaching a transitional age in their lives. Thisproject provides them with the knowledge and skills they need to function in apredominantly hearing society, raising their aspirations and expectations.

TheDAVE Project assists in the growth, independence anddevelopment of its members. The success of our youngpeople is testimony to the individual growth, confidence and self-belief/worththat has surged within them. Involvement in the Manchester Deaf Centre’s YouthService has equipped our young deaf people with the skills they need to securefuture employment, internships and volunteer roles, whilst also providing themwith a weekly opportunity to engage and socialise with their deaf peers.

The money raised will go towards the youth services at the Manchester Deaf Centre.
