Story
On 12th June I will be taking part in Ironman 70.3 which includes an open water swim, cycle and run, totalling 70.3 miles. This is by far the biggest challenge I have ever competed in so far and should take me c.8.5 hours to complete (fingers crossed).
My motivation and driver for this event is my very good friend Laura, who sadly passed away last year. Laura is a true inspiration to me as a woman, working mum and general awesome person. When I am struggling to get up at 5.30 to train for the event and can't find the energy to run or cycle, I think of Laura and how hard she fought her cancer diagnosis. She is a true legend and will be my driving force to get over the finish line on the event day.
Cancer affects so many families and friends and I want to do my bit to try and raise funds to support research into Ovarian Cancer but also to do something in Laura's memory and show how she inspired me throughout our friendship.
