Story

I sent The Clock Tower Sanctuary some money from a collection at my birthday party. They contacted me and asked if I wanted to visit the centre.

I was so impressed! They work with people up to the age of 26. It is so easy to fall into homelessness through no fault of your own. Lots of people are attracted to Brighton because of its tolerance but social housing is hard to come by and private housing very expensive. Life on the streets is hard. These young people are regularly beaten up and have their very few possessions stolen.

The Sanctuary  caters for people's immediate needs such as a shower, food and clothes washing but then go to help further with life skills. Some of these young people need help with learning how to budget and cook and it is impossible to get a job if you are dirty and have no address or contact details. The Clock Tower Sanctuary helps with all this. Go onto their website and see the stories. Like me, you will want to give and help get these young people off the streets.

What am I doing? I pledge to lose half a stone by Scarlet's birthday on the 19th of December. Julian Barnes said heaven is the same as this only half a stone lighter. I find it really hard to lose that half stone but I will. No tricks (diuretics/laxatives/cutting off a foot...) Attached is a photo (my feet are very recognisable) taken today. Another will go up on the 19th December. You might want to wait until then to give or like me you might just want to give anyway....
