On 3rd October, Gofal's Torfaen Team will be taking part in a walk from Pontypool to Cwmbran via the Afon Lwyd Trail, they are doing this to raise money for the Gofal Crisis Fund and also raise awareness of the work they do within these communities. 

Gofal are a leading Welsh mental health and well-being charity. They provide a wide range of services to people with mental health problems, supporting their independence, recovery, health and well-being. They also lobby to improve mental health policy, practice and legislation, as well as campaigning to increase public understanding of mental health and well-being. They know that people with mental health problems can and do live fulfilled lives. This is why they continue to work towards their vision of 'Good mental health and well-being for all'.

As Gofal are one of the partner organisations delivering the 'Time to Change Wales', a campaign aimed to end the stigma and discrimination faced by people with mental health problems in Wales, this walk will hopefully not just raise money for the Gofal Crisis Fund but also increase awareness of the support that is available for people with mental health issues within these communities. 

The Gofal Crisis Fund helps people with mental health problems who are at risk of homelessness or needing support with resettlement into communities following a period of homelessness when other support is not available.
