I am running the Birmingham Half Marathon Sunday 14th October to raise money to buy a resource for Sandwell and West Birmingham Hospital to specifically target preventable causes of child death. Members of the Sandwell CDOP panel (Child Death Overview Panel) have developed literature to educate infants, children and parents in areas such as choking, water safety and car safety.  (www.dogduckandcat.co.uk). This has been bought by other NHS Trusts and Public Health bodies in the UK but isn't available for the families of Sandwell where the need is great due to the levels of deprivation.
