So myself and my sister Sarah Birkett have been given a huge opportunity to run in one of the worlds most famous marathons.

For those those that don't know me I lost a lot of my sight in the summer of 2013 ofter catching an infection whilst having eye surgery.

I didn't know what to do or where to turn when i lost my sight. The RNIB stepped in and got my life back on track which I am truely thankful.

We have started our 20 week training program and are working hard to make this very daunting challenge a reality.

RNIB give practical and emotional support to people who's lives have been devastated by sight loss.

Current figures show that only 1 in 3 people diagnosed with sight loss are getting the help they need which means 2 out of three are having to face this massive ordeal alone.

Currently one person will start to lose their sight every 15 minutes in the UK.

With your support RNIB can reach out to more people who's lives have been affected by loss of sight.
