I signed up for this event (52 mile ultra across the South Downs) late last year however up until recently had not selected a charity. At the start of this year a friend of mine tragically lost his daughter when she took her own life, suffering from mental health issues.

A major factor contributing to this was a long term battle with alcohol addiction, something that my family have also had to deal with in the past. These have sadly never ended well for those suffering from this dreadful illness. 

I am raising money for Human Kind (North Yorkshire Horizons) in the UK who attempt to deal with young people suffering with these problems.
