Story
In March, I will be running the 2022 Cardiff Half Marathon to raise money for Autistic Minds charity. This is a charity very close to me as my son lives with autism, and the charity has done great work within the Autism community.
Formerly known as The Autism Directory, Autistic Minds is a charity who work hard all year round to help and support those within the Autism community that need it most. Their Help Hub has recently been receiving 300 plus calls a month from those who need support to running their employment programmes in the South Wales Job centres backed by the DWP. Autistic Minds also hold one to one meetings for those who need help with PiP and diagnosis.
Over 70% of the staff are autistic and they are so proud to be able to say that we are making a difference to people's lives. However the charity is not government funded so literally every penny raised will be making a huge difference and enabling them to pave the way for better and clearer awareness and understanding of the Autism community and will also enable them to continue to grow and expand to reach out to more and more people who desperately need it.
Running for Autistic Minds will help them raise vital funds that are very much needed in order for the charity to be able to continue to do the vital work the Autism Community desperately needs.
