Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am riding the RideLondon for the third time this year;100 miles (hopefully) around London and the Surrey Hills and in better weather! I am also riding a number of other events during the course of the year including the Tour de Yorkshire and Velothon Wales all in aid of the British Heart Foundation.
I am passionate about the BHF for the research that has given me the chance of a second life.
I was diagnosed in 2008 with a life-threatening condition after collapsing whilst refereeing a football match and had a defibrillator inserted that I will have for the rest of my life. Since then I have received treatment and support from the BHF nurses at Torbay Hospital and have made a full recovery.
By cycling I have been able to carry on exercising and this is mine and my family's way of repaying the BHF and the NHS for all the great work they do for everyone.
You can follow my blog of my rides from last year and as I prepare for this year's RideLondon at https://martinwoolcott63.wordpress.com/
