Story

This will be the first time I run 10 kilometres and probably the last. I don't really have the knees for it and I prefer cycling.

During the depths of the first lockdown I said I would run 10km dressed as Paddington Bear as soon as I could to raise funds for the wonderful and inspirational Bristol Refugee Rights. They do unspectacular and often invisible work supporting some of the most vulnerable people in our city, and they need more money. I am proposing to run a long distance dressed as a popular refugee bear from Peru in order to persuade you to give your support to Bristol Refugee Rights. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Post-race update: That was fun! And we raised so much more than the target. Thank you!

About the charity

We aim to make sure no one seeking asylum in our area goes without housing, allowance, community and support. We provide basic needs from housing application to hardship payments. We also build long term solutions to empower children, young people and adults to live in safety and fulfillment.
