Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving

Our daughter Maia was born six weeks premature in November 2014. Shortly after she was born doctors found holes in her heart and a condition called tracheal stenosis which prevented her from breathing properly.

When Maia was just two months old surgeons performed an operation to correct her trachea. And then in June she had open heart surgery to repair the holes in her heart.

"The recovery after this operation was really tough. For the first 48 hours we weren’t sure if Maia would pull through. But she was so determined and two weeks after the operation Maia was well enough to go home again."

“Maia’s spirit has been phenomenal and she has kept smiling throughout it all. She has been our strength and she has shown a real fighting spirit to get through this."

Since then Maia has made a good recovery. To help thank those who helped save their daughter’s life, we vorganised a fun day and other events to raise funds for charity in 2016.

This year Maia's nursery are organising a charity day to help raise funds for Dreamdrops in aid of what they habe done for Maia. Dreamdrops is a local charity who raises funds for Hitchingbrooke Hospital children services. Maia's care in her first few weeks in life at Hitchingbrooke special care baby unit was truely amazing! We would like to raise funds to further help the childrens services at Hitchingbrooke.

On 19th August i am going to cut my hair short and donate my hair to Little Princess Trust who make wigs for kids.

Please please please donate what you can to raise money for Dreamdrops!

Thank you so much

About the charity

Dreamdrops aims to make life a little easier when it can be at it's most stressful by providing all those little (and large) extras that are not covered by public funds. The charity's work doesn't just stop at the hospital door, as funds are also used to help sick children cared for at home.
