On September 5th I am the running the Southampton Half Marathon and on December 4th I’m running the New Forest off road half marathon. I have been running regularly for around 3 years, but have never completed a half marathon and I’m excited to be able to complete 2 this year!  To help motivate me in the final weeks of training, I have decided to run for the CMT UK charity who work to support those who are affected by Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disease.

Why? My daughter was been diagnosed with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease nearly 2 years ago and we have benefited from support and advice from CMT UK.  The charity provides specialist advice to her school and health care professionals. They also run social media groups which have enabled us to connect and share experiences with other families living with this condition. The money raised will help CMT UK provide support and services to those impacted by this disease and fund research into treatments.
