We are doing Tough Mudder 2016!!

For those of you that don't know Tough Mudder is a 12 mile obstacle course that involves a combination of running (through a lot of mud in case you hadn't guessed!) climbing walls, crawling, swinging, getting shocked and braving some icy temperatures. We can confirm that Laura and Lorraine survived to tell the tale last year and have managed to persuade two more "willing" volunteers to make our psychology team this year... May turn into a growing annual event, who knows ;)

So, not only are we crazy enough to sign ourselves up for the challenge, we are also paying for the privilege to do this! Tough Mudder hosts events all over the country and all proceeds raised go to Help For Heros, a charity set up in 2007 to support British servicemen and women who have been wounded or injured in the line of duty.

In addition, we wanted to raise extra money for a cause close to our hearts. The MIND 'Get set to go' initiative combines our passion for sport and mental health. This initiative was set up in 2015 and aims to find physical activities for people with mental health difficulties to take up. The ethos is about offering support to find the 'right activity' for each individual, in order to help them stick at it long enough to start enjoying the physical, mental and social benefits, which I'm sure you will agree are of great value!

We would appreciate any sponsorship you can offer, or some general words of support, failing that a hand hobbling around the office and cups of tea on the morning after Tough Mudder would be fabulous too!!

We are also welcoming anyone who would like to be a spectator on the day and watch us get muddy and bruised. It's at Belvoir Castle on 22nd May, starting at about 10am. Parking is around £10 per car and spectator tickets become available (for around £5 per person), near the time. Just let us know!
