We train rural health workers to provide emergency dental care

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am a local dentist inspired by the amazing charity B2A which has helped provide access to emergency dental care for over 3.5 million Africans. I wish to raise funds to help them continue with their work and roll out training in more remote regions.

In October I joined a dental volunteer programme in Tanzania with two nurses from my Practice in Kendal. After a very successful fundraiser last summer and thanks to the generosity of my friends and patients we managed to donate £10,000 to the charity.

Due to the hard work and effective organisation by the charity, the volunteers hit the ground running and over a two week period we treated several hundred locals and trained 12 clinical officers in emergency dental care. As a result of the October trip to the Lake Zone in North west Tanzania, a further 120,000 Africans can now access safe extractions.

I am organising another Cross Bay walk with Cedric Robinson, the Queen's guide to the sands, on 8th August 2015. The walk starts at twelve noon from

Arnside Pier and will finish at Kent's Bank. There is parking available in Arnside and return travel by train. Alternatively cars can be parked at Kent's Bank and a train to the start of the walk.
