Spoons are a small local charity, run by volunteers, who provide emotional and practical support to parents experiencing neonatal care at North Manchester General Hospital and Royal Oldham Hospital. They also support parents following discharge from neonatal care and raise funds to improve patient experience and family services on the neonatal units.

As Captain of Blackley Golf Club, Spoons is my chosen charity for 2018. My son, John, was born prematurely in 1978 as was my granddaughter, Isabella, in 2010, so this is a cause close to my heart. 

On 25th July I’ll be playing 66 holes in one day (one for each year of my age) and I’ll be teeing off at 5:30am and hope to finish sometime before midnight! Any sponsorship, however small, would really help make a difference to the families that Spoons supports.
