The MONTANE Spine Challenger  is the summer version of the original MONTANE Spine race. A non-stop, 60hr race from Edale in Derbyshire to Kirk Hardraw in North Yorkshire. The course record is 23hrs:53mins:36secs (I won't be challenging that!).

The race takes place over a beautiful section of the Pennine Way featuring the Kinder Plateau, numerous National Parks, Malham Cove and Pen-y-Ghent to name a few. The route is very exposed. There is very little hand holding on this race. I am expected to be self sufficient bar the odd checkpoint on route (I will have a GPS attached so can be tracked by you and the organisers!). So it's pretty brutal.
