Story

UPDATE - We were due to take part in cycle Kenya last year, unfortunately covid had other plans. We will now be taking on the challenge to cycle from Milan to Venice!!!! May 2022

Michelle ~ Thanks for visiting our page and having a little read of why we’re actually doing this!! Back in November 2011 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer, at the age of 25 this was the last thing I thought would happen! After many appointments and small operations at Torbay and Exeter hospital, I was told I would need further treatment and was referred to St Bartholomews hospital, St Pauls in London for a much more major and specialist operation  called a 'Radical Tracalectomy' and also to have my 'Lymth nodes' removed. After a long 11 days in hospital recovering and after a few further problems I was eventually allowed home, Thankfully a few weeks later on the 21st March 2012 I was given the all clear! It hasn't been an easy ride but everything I have been through in the last 8 years has inspired me to do something to help these well deserved charities in raising money to help people like myself, also the people less fortunate who require more treatment and of course the ones who are not here today.

Cycle Milan to Venice for me is dedicated to only one person! That’s my beautiful friend Emma and my biggest supporter of these crazy challenges. Emma, Who sadly lost her very short battle to Cancer back in December 2018 is truly  missed by so many not just for her infectious smile or exceptionally good organisational skills but just for the amazing person we have lost. Keep shining Bright Em ⭐️

In 2014 I cycled Cuba and Cycled India in 2018 both with Women V Cancer, I can honestly say they were both the most amazing experiences, Ive made life long friends and memories. So here's to Cycle Milan to Venice 2022!

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all in taking time to read my story and sponsoring and donating,  Looking forward to seeing you all at some fundraising events over the next 18-24 months to help raise the £7,000  we need to cycle Milan to venice !!

Much love 💕

Rachel ~ My decision to take on this challenge all started with one very crazy hair appointment!!! Michelle had already decided to take part in Cycle Kenya and was telling me all about her plans. While adding the finishing touches to my colour she laughed and said “fancy it Rach”. I’m not so sure she believed me when I said yes and before I knew it, I was signed up.

I have known Michelle for many years and watched as she has taken on these amazing challenges. I am exited, although a little daunted, to be joining her this time. Probably time, to buy that bike!!! 🚲

We all know that special someone, so for all those who have fought, those currently fighting and those who have lost their fight 💕💕
