Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After 37 years in policing I have finally decided to hand in the warrant card, step down and retire. As part of that I want to say a farewell and thanks to the force and to the wonderful county of Derbyshire. So to mark my retirement I am getting on my bike and visiting as many towns and stations as possible. I would like as many people as possible to join me and they are welcome to do the full route or just part of it. There will be riders in their 20's and other in their 60's, ability doesn't matter it's about taking part!
Day 1 will be the South of the county from Derby to Swadlincote and back through Walton on Trent, Church Broughton and Ashbourne.
Day 2 Starts at Matlock to Chatsworth over the Snake Pass to Glossop and back through Buxton.
Day 3 Starts at Ripley to Chesterfield, onto Baslow back through Crich to Ilkeston, Heanor then returning to Ripley.
I'll be doing between 70 and 80 miles a day pedaling up some of Derbyshire's biggest hills climbing up to 2500 metres.
By doing that I would like to raise as much money as I can for my chosen charity Safe and Sound. They do fantastic work protecting young vulnerable people from exploitation and abuse. They provide support directly to children, young people and families in Derby and Derbyshire affected by abuse and work to ensure that individuals receive the support they need to move forwards in their lives.
It would be absolutely fantastic to reach the target for this great cause!
