This Sunday I will be embarking on a 100-hour fast for charity. The only thing I will consume during this 4-day period is water (lots and lots of water), along with some supplemental electrolytes. The money I raise will be donated to the Humanitarian Aid Relief Trust (HART). This is, I believe, a very unique cause. HART works with communities suffering from oppression who are generally *not* served by major aid organisations. These include communities in active conflict zones (Burma, Sudan), post-conflict areas still ravaged by war, or areas where people are exploited for cultural/economic reasons (such as the Dalits and Temple Prostitutes in India).
