Trying to keep Older people in their own homes in the Bristol Area.

We do this in two main ways - 

We fund over 400 pendant alarms that older, and less able, people use to get hold of in-house help to allow them to stay longer in their own homes.

We also are running a 3 year project by which we fund a Home from Hospital Technician, and his van, to go into peoples homes with an occupational therapist. The O.C. highlights what the client needs to adapt their house to facilitate a "quick release" from hospital and thus save "hospital bed spaces". Usually each new client visit by the technician will save between 1 and 4 nights extra stay in Hospital.

We also give small grants to charities and organisations in the region that help the elderly - for example Community Navigators, Christmas dinner clubs, film clubs, mixed age group meetings and much more.

I have a mammoth task this year to raise as much as I can (the Previous President raised £90,000!)
