Story
About CRY;
Every week in the UK at least 12 apparently fit and healthy young people die of undiagnosed cardiac conditions. With your donation, CRY can reduce the frequency of young sudden cardiac death (YSCD) by working with cardiologists and family doctors to establish good practice and appropriate screening facilities to promote and protect the cardiac health of our young. By supporting CRY you will help save young lives from these potentially fatal cardiac conditions. See how your support can help by visiting www.c-r-y.org.uk
About me: This year I will make it to the start line! 2 toe injuries have put paid to me starting. So this year I will be there! Undertrained but determined to finish in under 6 hours.
In preparation I have run the Eastleigh 10k as well as Brighton and Eastbourne Half marathons ( both in howling wind and rain) and I will be doing the forthcoming dawn Southampton Airport Run in June.
I am not a natural runner but I love taking part. I have spectated London Marathon too many times and this time I will be delighted be out on the course. Any help you can give me I would be eternally grateful for.
I am keen to help CRY and Wessex Heartbeat as both my former Association Chairman and Election Agent have been helped by these wonderful charities and I am keen to help them as a result. Heart issues killed both my mum and dad. I saw my mum die of a heart related issue in 2014 when out shopping together. It was a truly horrible experience.
