We We raise funds for Belfast HSC Trust to We deliver the best care to our patients

Story

In Northern Ireland the main treatment center for Cancer is at Belfast City Hospital and we wanted to raise money for the Oncology Department at the Hospital in Memory of my Dad Michael who was treated there and sadly passed away 20 years ago.

My Dad was diagnosed in 2001 and fought bravely for 8 months before passing away at the age of 37 on the 5th February 2002. During those 8 months he was treated at Belfast City Hospital Oncology Department and even though I was only 11 at the time I remember the kindness of the doctors, nurses and staff there. They provide such an important service not only in the treatment they provide but the care they give the patients and their families. At the time I did a cycle to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care with a close friend and we cycled 50 miles out to Tandragee and back. 20 years later we are upping the ante and taking on Mizen to Malin Head with the aim to raise some money for the Oncology Department at the City Hospital.

Myself, James Atkinson, Andrew Stewart, Peter Wilson, Paul Atkinson, David Burrows, Daniel McConville, Andrew Knox, Stephen Doherty and Patrick Keery will be completing the following route:

Mizen Head > Tralee > Galway > CastleBar > Donegal Town > Malin Head. Completing 480 miles over 5.5 Days.

We would be grateful if you could support us by donating to this page.
