We aim to provide maternity care to give hope to the pregnant women in need

Story

In Bangladesh, over three-quarters of births still take place at home, This is mainly due to the expensive fees needed to admit to the maternity clinics/hospitals. Some can barely feed themselves let alone pay hospital fees.

Bangladesh could not make significant progress in reducing maternal mortality rate even after 42 years of independence as 194 mothers per 0.1 million die against 240 in developing and 16 in developed countries.

About 7,300 women die from childbirth-related complications every year in the country.

In Bangladesh, Sylhet has the highest maternal mortality rate which is 462 per 0.1 million while in Dhaka the rate is 196.

The Child maternal death rate is increasing rather then decreasing in Bangladesh. I believe it can only be reduced if maternity clinics are developed around the rural areas and facilities are given to the poor for free.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Every Muslim has to give in charity." The people then asked: "(But what) if someone has nothing to give, what should he do?" The Prophet replied: "He should work with his hands and benefit himself and also give in charity (from what he earns)." The people further asked: "If he cannot find even that?" He replied: "He should help the needy who appeal for help." Then the people asked: "If he cannot do (even) that?" The Prophet said finally: "Then he should perform good deeds and keep away from evil deeds, and that will be regarded as charitable deeds." - Sahih Al-Bukhari, Volume 2, Hadith 524
