Story
A bunch of us (Kamran Maskin, Ihtisham Tariq, Danyal Dar, Amran Rashid & Ussman Aziz) have decided to cycle 127 miles from Liverpool to Leeds along the 200 year old-canal linking the two cities.
We are doing this to raise money for Abu Zahra Foundation's refurbishment programme of its current premises, a 1890 Victorian church. We want to support the foundation so everyone can continue to use up to date facilities, making them conducive to learning. It has been doing a fantastic job for the last 18 years and many children and adults have benefited from using the foundation for learning the Quran, Arabic, tajweed and other fundamental Islamic courses.
We will be doing the ride on the 23rd and 24th August. Plan is to rise early on the 23rd and do the majority (approx 80 miles) of the ride that day and the rest on the 24th. This really is a challenge as 127 miles is a long way, so dig deep and support us to raise as much money as possible for a local, worthwhile cause. The training will begin after Ramadan.
