Wight Ferry Sportive · 7 July 2012

Our aim is to introduce newcomers to the fantastic sport of waterskiing and wakeboarding, regardless of their physical or learning ability. We are self-funding with no government support and rely on the generosity of our volunteers, fundraising activities and donations. Please help us help others.

Story

As some of you may know, Morgan Sindall have put together an ‘elite’ team to take part in the Wight Ferry sportive on the 7 July 2012.

Team: Stephen Holmes, John Richardson, Michael O’Callaghan, Gary Sheahan, Paul Cowling, Dan Evans, Tim Conneely, Steve Kemp, Chris Barr, George McBride, Ade Barrett, Russell Line & Steve Fletcher.

Our journey will cover 2 ferry crossings, 2 stunning sections in the New Forest National Park, and a circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight, hopefully topping it off with an ice cream to celebrate our successful ride at the finish!

Through this epic sportive we will be pedalling our way through a 65 mile or 95 mile course; sweeping through the flattish forest of New Forest National Park and ‘huffing and puffing’ our way through the hilliest parts of the Isle of Wight before returning via the southern coastal roads with their amazing coastline vistas!

We are taking part in this event to raise money for the British Disabled Water-ski and Wakeboard Association (BDWSA). The charity’s aim is to introduce newcomers to the sport of water skiing who, due to their disability, would not have previously considered the sport accessible. BDWSA allow individuals to forget the restrictions of land and leave their disability behind, feeling the freedom of the water. With expert support, specialist assistive equipment and guidance from their fully qualified instructors, individuals can take to the water and learn to water ski, whatever their disability.

If you would like to show your support by donating to this great charity, you can sponsor the Morgan Sindall Wheelers on this just giving page.

Thank you very much for your support.
