We are helping thousands of African women to access quality healthcare services.

Story

I'm supporting the Freedom From Fistula Foundation and have been involved since it began in 2008. May brings with it the 2nd anniversary of the Freedom from Fistula Foundation and this year, we are challenging women across the UK to "Help Mothers in May".

1 woman every 2 seconds is injured or disabled in childbirth.  That means 1,339,200 pregnant women will be injured during the 31 days in May.

The Freedom From Fistula Foundation is challenging women and men to do something big or small this May to help us provide free surgery to these women and start them on a journey of physical and emotional healing.

We are currently working in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Kenya, Malawi, Uganda, and Ethiopia. Our vision is for all women in Africa to have access to healthcare during pregnancy and childbirth and to help eradicate obstetric fistulas.

Together we can help make a real difference to the lives of these women.
