To celebrate my birthday, I am raising funds for a weekly singing group for patients with chronic respiratory disease who suffer from breathlessness, Originally funded by a generous donation from a patient with COPD, the group is free and run by a music therapist. There is now evidence to suggest that singing improves objective measurements of lung function. But most importantly, it provides immeasurable joy for the patients who have made friends in the group and who come every week - whatever the weather! To quote just one of the group members:

"I live for coming here!"
