Story
You all knew, following my good news, it wouldn’t be long
before I would get back into the fundraising saddle.
Raring to go, you might be shocked to hear, that I’ve signed
up for this year’s Skipton Triathlon taking place on Sunday 15th
April 2018…but don’t panic just yet!
Taking inspiration from the famous Brownlee brothers, I’ve enlisted the help of
the Naylor Wintersgill team for a joint effort on this one.
The Skipton Triathlon marks the first triathlon of the
season (let’s hope it’s not too chilly then!) and consists of a 400m pool-based
swim, 22km cycle lap taking in the countryside of Skipton and a 5km run around
Aireville Park.
Donning her armbands, Naylor Wintersgill team member
Catherine Bedell will be kicking us off by taking on the swim. I’ll then be ready in my “lycra” to tackle the cycle before a final sprint to the finish
line by our TAX EXPERT Chris Gumbley.
Collectively our team dubbed the ‘NW Tri-ers’ are hoping to
raise £1,000 for Naylor Wintersgill’s chosen charity of the year Cancer Support
Yorkshire.
From support centres in Bradford, Skipton and Wakefield,
Cancer Support Yorkshire provides support for cancer patients, their carers and
their families in the local area. They provide help with practical issues like
information, transport to hospital appointments and advice on welfare
rights. Alongside this they also offer
range of one-to-one well-being services like counselling and complementary
therapies.
All supporters and flag wavers will be greatly appreciated
on the day as we’re put through are paces on 15th April – we’ll
‘tri’ our best for an impressive finish time!
Don’t forget to join me on Twitter and Facebook where I’ll
be keeping you up to date with photos and posts on the run up to the big day.
Thank you for your support
Alan, Catherine and Chris
