Story

One goal. One month. One amazing way to help people affected by cancer!

Together, Naomi and I will be running beyond our limits across the month of September to push ourselves further than we have ever run before for 3 very important charities that are close to our hearts.

Macmillan Cancer Support, Bloodwise and CDH UK.

We will be trying our very best to OutRun September, combining short and long training sessions throughout the month in preparation for the Bristol Half Marathon running event on the 25th of September.

Cancer has touched many people near and dear to us, which is why we have teamed up with Macmillan to help raise money to beat this horrible disease.

My cousin's boyfriend is still fighting his fight with Leukaemia, having been given the all clear only a few months ago since he was diagnosed with Leukaemia in November 2015, to then receive the unexpected news this week that it has resurfaced in his bone marrow. The doctors have told him he will now need a stem cell transplant which will mean re-admittance to hospital for at least another 3 months until a suitable stem cell donor is found. We will therefore also be running in support of Bloodwise to help Matt fight his way back to recovery for the second time.

Last but certainly not least, we would also like to raise awareness for Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), a lung development condition that our friend's baby niece sadly passed away from at only a day old. CDH occurs in approximately 1 in 2500 births. CDH UK are able to provide emotional support and advice, as well as financial assistance to families who are unable to access and utilise specialist CDH hospitals. We would therefore like to raise money for the charity CDH UK to help families and children suffering from this condition, receive the required support and treatment they need to beat CDH. OutRun September is a challenge we are excited to take part in to raise as much money as we can for the 3 chosen charities mentioned in our story. #OutRunSeptember.

Any donation is greatly appreciated and will be a huge help to each charity. Your sponsorship will also encourage us to run our way through September, ending with the main event; Bristol Half Marathon on the 25th of September.
