This summer I will be travelling to the Philippines with a charity named SERVE. This charity works hard to combat poverty in the most marginalised  countries all over the world and the Philippines is just one of these.

For four weeks, my role will be to offer training, education and support to the Badjao Tribe in Cebu City that will allow them to develop lifelong skills to survive and change the lives of their generation and generations to come.

At the minute, according to a survey completed by The Presentation Sisters in this tribe, 27.6% of household average income is less than Ps1.500 which is only €26 per month! While the highest income earners (only 23.4%!) estimate their monthly income to go beyond P600 which is just over €103 per month!

Something needs to change.
