My book 'Being Human - the path to self-acceptance, resilience and happiness' offers a journey of self-discovery to find happiness, self-acceptance and self-love as well as helping to manage and prevent mental health symptoms.

During the book launch, I wanted to highlight the importance of shifting the focus from crisis to prevention of mental health difficulties, especially where mental health resources are limited and early intervention is important. As part of this, I pledged to raise money for Off the Record who provide mental health support and information to young people aged 11-25.

I originally planned 3 events in 2020 which were all cancelled due to Covid. The abseil was cancelled literally just before the event and I am pleased to confirm it will now be going ahead on Saturday, 16 October 2021, almost 18 months after the original date!! I am hoping to raise £3000 minimum for Off the Record and will continue fundraising until I do so. (More information about 2022 to follow.)

I have chosen to raise money for Off the record as they do incredible work providing mental health support and information to young people aged 11 - 25. A £10 donation will buy a young person a one to one session with a Counsellor and £100 will buy a 6 week group for young people who self-harm.
