Story
So after 7 years of trying to get a place in the London Marathon, I finally received a 'You're In!' Magazine, hurrah!
Running the marathon has been a childhood goal, and I'm estactic to be doing it next year, but also a little bit scared...
Training is already underway, and I'm in my fourth week of training and eating foods I never thought I would touch.
It has taken me a while to decide on my charity. I've had a few phone me offering me support, training, massages and so on. All of which is wonderful and very tempting. But whilst this is a dream of mine, raising money for charity isn't about what I can get out of it. This is why I have chosen NAPAC. They are a tiny National Charity doing a great deal of good. But they are a team of ten overwhelmed with the demand. I'm hoping by raising money for them I can help a bit.
NAPAC deal with what some still consider to be a 'taboo' subject. Their vision: '...is of a society in which every adult survivor of childhood abuse in the U.K. Can access the support they need, when they need it, to make a journey of recovery and heal their emotional and psychological wounds.'
The charity provide a range of services which offer direct support to survivors, any money raised will help to continue this support.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my page
