Story
My husband is my best friend and I couldn't imagine life without him. We have been together for 18years and married for 6 with 2 children, Jordan 16 and Sophie 10.
On March 2nd 2016 my husband Scott came to Russell's Hall Hopsital as he was experiencing extremely bad back ache and chest pain, the two hours we spent in A&E changed our lives as the doctor came back to explain that Scott had a very low white blood cell count, it was showing only 11 which is very low. They explained they would be admitting him onto a ward as they needed to do some more tests but explained that a reason for his counts being low could be due to a number of things, Luekaemia being one of them.
That night I had a million questions racing through my head, but had to leave my husband in a hospital bed attached to drips and being pumped full of morphine, but in true Scott style he was still smiling!!
The following day he had a bone marrow test done and on 4th March they confirmed he had Acute Lymphoblastic Leukeamia and would need to start treatment straight away!!!
He is still in hospital currently going through his 2nd phase of chemotherapy, we are so grateful for all the support we have received from family and friends and the nurses and doctors have been wonderful.
Scott will need a bone marrow transplant which will be done at the QE Hospital, Birmingham.
