We provide vital treatment, care & support to cancer patients and families in Wales

Story

My 27 year old sister was diagnosed with melanoma cancer (Feb 2011). It was first found in her umbilicus and within weeks it spread to her groin then spine. She was given immediate radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Through regular check ups and the warmth of the Valindre Hospital staff she managed to keep a big smile on her face.

Sadly the cancer slowly spread to her liver and lungs and her drug doses were increased. Within weeks it spread further to her muscles around her eyes and to her skull.

Sadly she lost her battle on the 11th August 2011.

I set up this page as I feel so strongly about giving to charity. There is a Jewish concept that by giving to charity each person can help to give Justine the strength to fight this evil disease. She continually had a smile on her face, and reassured me that she is going to be fine. She was probably the strongest, most caring person I have ever met.

Velindre Cancer Hospital and Velindre Cancer Centre provide specialist cancer services to over 1.5 million people in South East Wales and beyond. They are one of the largest cancer centres in the UK.  They have already managed to save a few members of my family's lives and may they continue to look after Justine and provide a speedy recovery.

Every penny will go to Velindre hospital who will then be able to continue saving many more lives.
Please give what ever you can,
