Story
The Victoria Foundation has organised many treks over the years. I had always been tempted to join in and this year I finally signed up to the Vietnam Trek taking place in November.
Clearly the trek involves a lot of walking and in preparation I have started walking in to work.....a half hour walk each way which I have mastered....and yes I am aware I need to work a little bit harder ! The 6 day trek seems very interesting & challenging (walking 15-20km/day). The trek is fully funded by myself and includes overnight accommodation in Thai houses on stilts. No doubt I will be sleeping on the floor sprayed from head to toe with the highest strength insect repellent available to mankind.
I am marginally concerned about toilet facilities so I shall be optimising my professional knowledge and packing away the anti-diarrhoea medication ;)
On a serious note though I will be fundraising for The Victoria Foundation. A charity which provides medical support and equipment where there are currently gaps in the NHS. The focus of the charity is to transform the lives of those most in need. The money I will raise will go towards funding an accessible minibus providing vital transport for the elderly in the Kingston and Richmond area to combat loneliness and isolation in the community.
Thank you for your support.
