Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page for running The Great Midlands Run in Birmingham.

Last year I did boxing, this year I'm doing something a little less bruising and that's to run a half marathon. Finding the time to train for this has been the biggest challenge, usually at 5am in the morning. Which is great in the summer, but in autumn our gets a bit depressing. You just have to get on with it.

It's been personally assessed in my 3rd year (Year 9) school report by an Olympic running coach who was or PE Teacher as "Nathan can't run, but I like his attitude." So this Sunday I'm going a little bit further than the cross country run in Sutton Park. Hopefully, I get home in less than 2 hours 15 minutes.

This year I'm continuing to raise funds for Violets in Bloom. It's a local charity, set up by the parents of Violet Mornington. Violet lost her life in 2013 weeks after becoming ill to a rare blood disorder secondary to cancer. Violet was 5 years old and had just finished her first year with my son & daughter at St. Stephen's School in Fradley.

Have a look at the Violets in Bloom website, where you can find out more about the charity and their progress since last year http://www.violetsinbloom.org

VIB has been set up in memory of little Violet Mornington who died tragically in July 2013 aged just 5. We wanted to do something to honour our daughter's life and to help other parents who have also suffered the same devastating loss. Our first aim is to build a beautiful children's memorial garden
