Story
Nearly a year ago my mate Lee Stephenson suffered a heart attack followed by a cardiac arrest at home. However, thanks to the amazing help from his fiancée Amy Donalson , the 999 operator and paramedics he survived. Out of hospital cardiac arrests have a 1 in 10 survival rate. Fortunately , Amy is CPR trained but without the help of the operator talking her through it Lee would probably not be here today. Lee is recovering well, despite having to go through his second angioplasty and pericarditis. To say thank you to the North East Ambulance Service for their incredible work that evening I’m going to run 107.9 miles in March as in the past year 1079 calls were made to give life saving CPR advice which is staggering. Hopefully this will help to raise money and awareness for their incredible work. Any donation would be much appreciated.
With the funds raised NEAS can invest further in employees working through the global COVID 19 pandemic with health and wellbeing initiatives, reward and recognition for their dedication and professional development. Donations can also be used to recruit more volunteers and further train and support those already working with the service; install community defibrillators and develop a cadet scheme. Thank you for your support.
