Story
My Father-In-Law, Peter Bunce, lost his two year battle with cancer on 21st August 2015. He fought bravely and resolutely against his cancer.
He was a loving and kind Husband to Sarah, a Father - lovingly called 'Pops' to Lucy & Chris and Grandfather to Sam, Annie, Alice & Flora.
I'll be honoured to run the Cardiff 10k in memory of Peter every year, starting 6th September 2015.
Peter spent the last two and a half weeks of his life at Oakhaven Hospice in Lymington as well as having some of his chemotherapy treatment there. The family were incredibly lucky to have such a fantastic place just 5 minutes from home enabling scores of friends and family to visit at any time of day and night, and for Sarah to bring their beloved dog Archie to visit as well. The family were able to sleep down there and have meals with Peter too. Ultimately Peter was able to die in peace and with dignity and the family and friends were supported throughout by the fantastic staff.
Oakhaven costs £3 million a year to run and only 13% of their funding is received from the NHS. Donations are critical. Thank you for your support.
We miss you Peter.
