ING UK have initiated a team building exercise that takes in charitable work, and offered to match donations up to £7,500!

We have decided as a team to walk as many miles of The South Downs Way as possible.  The collective total we are aiming for is at least 300 miles in one day, with each team member covering as much ground as they can to achieve the grand total.  It will definitely result in many blisters and aches and pains, but will all be worth while with your support.

The charity we are walking for is Rett UK.  Rett Syndrome has affected a couple of our team members directly and so it was unanimously agreed that Rett UK would be our beneficiary.  

Therefore, the minimum we can do is to support such a worthy cause and push our own physical limits, with a challenge that we can undertake as a team. 

A bit about Rett Syndrome:  

Imagine being told your toddler you thought was healthy, but perhaps slow to progress, in fact had a rare and devastating disability that would leave them needing lifelong 24/7 care. Rett syndrome changes lives irrevocably. With your support Rett UK is there from the beginning. #ToKnowHerIsToLoveHer

Rett syndrome is the most common genetic cause of severe disability in females and less commonly in males, yet very few people have ever heard of it. Rett children appear to be born perfectly normal but by 18 months they start to regress. They have profound and multiple physical and learning disabilities. They are totally reliant on others for support throughout their lives.

Every penny and pound we raise will be gratefully received and put to excellent use - every donation truly makes a difference to this small charity.

Here is a break down from Rett UK on what your money could represent: 

£10 covers the cost of the low tech communication resource packs  provided to families.

£25 provides one hour 1:1 dedicated support from our transition support worker.

£50 provides one hour of 1:1 specialist physio with a Rett expert.

£100 provides a support day with lunch and refreshments for 10 families.

£300 pays for sibling activities for the day whilst parent carers listen to presentations and attend workshops.

£500 pays for 10 carers to help in the care rooms.
