As you know from recent announcements, group training is not permitted for the month of January. However, we would like our kids to take on a challenge to keep them active so we have organised a virtual marathon to be completed over the month of January.

The kids will complete 3 runs per week of varying distances between 1 mile and 3 miles (with some added variety along the way) as we take them on a virtual tour of the Dublin Marathon route. In doing so, they will also raise vital funds for Barretstown (a fantastic children’s charity in our area). Anyone who completes the full marathon distance and raises a minimum of €26 for Barretstown will receive a t-shirt at the end of the event.

Hopefully this will motivate the kids to stay active when there will be little else happening. All runs will be completed individually (or with one other household) and within 5km from your home, in accordance with current Covid-19 regulations.

There will be runs to be completed by each Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday for the month. U10 kids will do the metric equivalent i.e. km instead of miles.
