We help inspire and develop innovations to improve young people’s mental health

Story

With suicide being the leading cause of death for men under the age of 50 and with 1 in 5 young women struggling with a mental health disorder it would be expected that the topic would be heavily understood, discussed and normalised with constant awareness being raised surrounding it.

However, this is not the case.

50% of our population aged 14-24 struggle with at least one mental health disorder and because of this, I wanted to take any opportunity I had to raise money and awareness for Young People’s Mental Health UK.

As a young man, I understand the damaging stigma placed behind mental health, specifically discussing men’s mental health.

Now, I want to continue fighting to break the stigma and normalise healthy conversations, involving openly sharing feelings and experiences relating to mental health.

My goal, is to help those struggling.

In March 2020, I took an online suicide prevention course by Zero Suicide Alliance and since, felt as though I could do more.

Therefore I decided to run 5km a day for the Month of June to help raise money and awareness to Young People’s Mental Health UK.

Any donation or share is massively appreciated.

It’s smart to talk
