Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On July 8th 2016, I will be travelling to Tanzania to work in a hospital in Arusha. The hospital is in the Masai area and apart from working in the clinic, I will also be travelling to the rural areas over a two week period.

Many African countries, have failed to translate reasonably fast economic growth into improved health. There is an 80% correlation between infant mortality and GDP per capita.

Whilst Tanzania is relatively poor, there have been significant improvements made on infant mortality and in spite of Tanzania and Kenya having some of the lowest mortality rates (30 children out of every 1,000), this is still 6x higher than the U.K. or U.S.A.  Similarly, diseases such as yellow fever that were eradicated in Europe >100 years ago, are still prevalent in Tanzania.

As we all know a small contribution to an African cause can make a tremendous difference, I would appreciate your financial support on this worthy venture.
