We fund research and support to improve the lives of children with IBD

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I'm taking part in the Smethwick Challenge, a bike ride from London to Birmingham along the towpath of the Grand Union Canal, to raise money for CICRA.

My daughter Aimee was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis 2 years ago when she was 11. Colitis is a form of IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease), a chronic condition with currently no cure. Treatment helps to keep the condition under control. The number of children with IBD has doubled over the past 20 years, so there is an urgent need for more specialists and better treatments.

And so raising funds for CICRA is something close to my heart, and will help with research into the disease, specifically to improve  diagnosis, treatment and better management for children of all ages.

Thankfully, regular treatment is keeping Aimee well at the moment, largely down to the work of CICRA and the wonderful staff at Birmingham Children's hospital. Thank you for taking the time to read this, and for any donations you can give.
