My mum has had Addison’s Disease for over twenty years.  It is a rare life threatening condition affecting the Adrenal Glands and their lack of the production of Cortisol, needed to survive. Luckily she has drugs to keep her alive. 
Addison’s Disease Self Help Group have helped promote awareness of this condition to health professionals, who rarely come across it, and they offer its members help and advice in what can sometimes feel a lonely place to be.  Without their input and hard work lives couldbe lost unnecessarily through lack of knowledge of the condition.
