Story
A group of friends from the Bar Du Fay in Maghull (Merseyside), decided that they wanted to make a difference in the community and began fund raising activities for deserving causes. What started as local "low key" efforts (they still happen) become something more organised and for the last 3 years the group has undertaken an annual charity cycle ride.
In previous years we have supported Zoe's Place, the Bloom Appeal (blood cancer) and Prostate UK. This year we are raising funds for Childhood Cancer Support (CHICS). We always strive to select a charity that has some connection to a member of the group.
CHICS is a cancer charity, providing information and support to children, and their families, affected by cancer. Their mission is to give cancer patients and their families the up-to-date information, practical advice and support they need to reduce the fear and uncertainty of cancer, and to help families make memories.
We are riding between Galway and Dublin at the end of June, which is approximately 170 miles with detours. We are all middle aged and generally unfit and this will be a personal challenge for each of us.
I hope you are able to support this event by making a donation to this very worthy cause.
Thanks,
